Wellington Camp

Wellington Camp

On Sunday our class got on a bus at seven thirty and drove the 8 and a half hour trip to Wellington it was long but we got there in the end. We stayed at Silverstream Retreat.
0ne of my favorite bits was seeing the big gallipoli soldiers they were very detailed and looked like they were alive and about to jump out at you. It was very cool how their faces were almost shiny with sweat and how realistic there emotions were. Another highlight was going to Wellington Zoo because I saw my favourite spider the Mexican Red Knee Tarantula.

On Monday we went to Parliament and Te Papa Parliament was cool because all of the four buildings were connected by underground passageways.
On Tuesday we went to Weta Caves and the Zoo Weta Caves was awesome because of all the different customs guns swords and jobs they do there. It was scary because of how realistic some of the monsters were. It was cool to think that really famous actors had worn and used some of the stuff. On Wednesday we went to Zealandia it was really cool seeing Tuatara in their burrows and cheeky Kaka playing in the trees. We saw Weta hotels but one of them had a huge Tunnel Web in it.Then we went on a city tour to the train station and went to a place called Jumporama were they have foam pits and big towers of trampolines. I had never been to a jumping park and found it was very tiresome

On our last day we went on the Interisland Ferry to Picton on the way I got sick  but not  on the way back I didn’t. At picton we visited the Edwin Fox it was an old ship that had escorted people to New Zealand. It was huge and  one single bed was supposed to hold six people. It was very interest how they made such a big ship out of just wood and a little bit of metal.

We also went to a eco aquarium which had two one eyed Snapper and 6 Tuatara that we got to pat. Soon after we were on the ferry back to Wellington on the ferry we had fish and chips for dinner. It was late when we got back and every one was very tired. It was a big trip back and most people were half asleep but still all bubbling with excitement from what we had done.

It had been a really awesome camp.
