PinwheelScones
(a short poem)
Flour, cinnamon and sugar too,
eggs, milk, butter in a thick pale goo.
Sift in the baking powder to make them rise,
yummy mixture makes my appetite hit a high.
Squish, knead, roll; there's your dough,
sprinkle on the cinnamon and in the oven they go.
15 minutes I sit and wait,
for the most perfect scones to bake.
Delicious smells start to drift,
on my plate in a perfect twist.
I open wide and take a bite,
my mouth is filled with the sweetest delight.
YUM!

Good Morning Blake
ReplyDeleteWhat a great effort with the rhyming. My favourite lines are ..."Delicious smells start to drift, on my plate in a perfect twist".
Did you take any photos?
Charlie followed this recipe too and made delicious scones for morning tea so he was Mr Bennett's favourite child that day!
Excellent work
Mrs Bennett
Hi Blake
ReplyDeleteVery clever poem Blake. Was there any line in your poem that was a challenge to think up to make it rhyme with the previous line? My mouth was watering as I got near the end!
Mrs Fisher
Hi Blake, It is only 8:50 and this makes me hungry despite only having brekkie a couple of hour ago! The rhyming is so clever. It must run in the family, as James also came up with excellent rhyming writing too. Did you help each other out?
ReplyDeleteHi Blake,
ReplyDeleteThis is clever writing and perfectly paints a picture in my mind. These baking blogs are brilliant but also making me very hungry.
Mrs Allan
Hi Blake,
ReplyDeleteIt's your cousin.
You know how you said you might come break into my bubble for my swirly biscuits?
Yeah, well, I might break into yours for some of your pinwheel scones, they sound delicious!
You've done a very good job of rhyming, and I like how yo put 'YUM' at the bottom after all the amazing describing words, made me laugh a bit.
I look forward to seeing you back at school after all of this is over (preferably sooner than later),
Have a great day,
Hope you'r bubble isn't too much at each others throats,
-Liana
